4 Steps Guide On Install A Forklift Side Shifter Cylinder
1. Adjust the position of the side shift cylinder
Adjust the side shift cylinder to the right position before installed. Note that the position of the forklift side shift cylinder should be consistent with the wheel spacing, which will help improve the stability of the forklift.
2. Remove the original side shifter cylinder.
Make sure that the oil in the line has been drained, and the forklift lifting parts are in a balanced state. Then disassemble the forklift side shift cylinder with a wrench. Noted that all four screws have been removed.
3. Install a new side shift cylinder
Put the new forklift side shift cylinder in the correct position and use a wrench to secure the screws of the cylinder. Pay attention to the direction and position of the side shifter cylinder during the installation.
4. Adjust the pressure of the cylinder
Don't forget to adjust the pressure of the cylinder. Keep the pressure in an appropriate range. The side shifter cylinder would abnormally work whether the pressure is higher or lower than needed. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the working environment of the forklift and determine the appropriate pressure range before making adjustments.
