Product Description
Step-by-Step Guide to Bleed a Forklift Brake System
1. Park the Forklift on a Level Surface: Ensure the parking brake is engaged.
2. Locate the Bleed Screws: These are typically located at the highest point of each brake caliper.
3. Fill the Master Cylinder: Add fresh brake fluid to the master cylinder, keeping it topped up throughout the bleeding process.
4. Open the Bleed Screw: Have your helper slowly pump the brake pedal several times and then hold it down. Quickly open the bleed screw on one of the calipers.
5. Collect the Fluid: As you open the bleed screw, brake fluid containing air bubbles will flow out. Collect this fluid in a clean container.
6. Tighten the Bleed Screw: Once a steady stream of clean fluid emerges, quickly tighten the bleed screw.
7. Repeat the Process: Repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 for each wheel, following the recommended sequence (usually starting with the farthest wheel from the master cylinder).
8. Check Fluid Level: After bleeding all the brakes, check the fluid level in the master cylinder and top it up if necessary.
