Forklift Flywheel for Xinchai 4D32ZG31 Diesel Engine
The forklift engine flywheel is installed at the power output end of the crankshaft, that is, the side where the gearbox is connected.
The main function of the forklift engine flywheel is to store energy and inertia of the engine's power stroke. In a four-stroke internal combustion engine, only a stroke of suction produces power, the other three strokes need the power of engine flywheel to run.
The structure of the flywheel is quite simple, consisting of a cast iron disk with a substantial rotational inertia. To increase the rotational inertia while maintaining the same mass, flywheels are typically made with thick edges. Usually, a ring gear is mounted on the edge of the flywheel, which engages with the starter motor gear during engine startup, driving the crankshaft rotation. Several screw holes are located in the center of the flywheel, allowing it to be bolted to the crankshaft. One side of the flywheel is flat and interfaces with the clutch plate, while the other side has a special shape that connects to the crankshaft.
