Product Description
Hangcha Forklift Brake Pads
Hangcha forklift brake pads are pivotal in our forklift's braking system. They are the heart of the drum brakes that guarantee the performance and safety of Hangcha forklifts. Essentially, these brake pads convert the kinetic energy of the forklift into thermal energy by creating friction against the inner surface of the brake drum, thus achieving deceleration or stopping.
How Do Forklift Brake Shoes Work?
Typically, brake pads consist of a metal backing plate and a friction material. The metal backing plate provides structural support, while the friction material is what comes into contact with the brake drum to generate friction. This friction material is usually a special composite material engineered with high friction coefficients and excellent heat resistance, ensuring consistent braking performance under various forklift operating conditions.
When a forklift operator presses the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure is transmitted through the braking system, causing the brake pads to expand outward and press tightly against the inner surface of the brake drum. This close contact generates friction, which alters the rotation speed of the wheels, thereby slowing the forklift down. The design and material choice of the brake pads has a direct impact on braking effectiveness. Generally, a higher coefficient of friction results in better braking performance, but it can also lead to increased wear on both the brake pads and the drum.
